Thrifty Car Sales has opened a business development center to handle customers' phone calls to its 39 U.S. used-vehicle dealerships.
Many of the stores lack the staff to focus on such calls, says Jeff Cerefice, Thrifty vice president. Now the dealerships can advertise a toll-free number that will be answered by professional agents, he says.
The call center, in Tulsa, Okla., will schedule appointments at Thrifty dealerships. It also will make follow-up calls to customers and prospects.
