Chevrolet will encourage dealers to spend $1 million to $4 million to renovate stores or build new ones this year.
"When you're the big dog on the block, you've got to have the right facility," Chevrolet General Manager Ed Peper said here in an interview Saturday.
This afternoon Peper will tell dealers about the improvements, renovations and even all-new stores that General Motors will push Chevrolet's approximately 4,100 dealers to implement this year.
"It's good for them, and it's good for us," Peper said. "Statistics will tell you if someone builds a new facility, their business will pick up exponentially the year or two after they build the new facility. It ends up paying for itself."
