DETROIT -- A Cadillac TV commercial during the Super Bowl will depict the 2007 Escalade SUV at a New York fashion show, ascending the runway and being besieged by paparazzi.
Supermodels such as Oluchi appear in the 60-second spot, called "Chrome Couture." They wear black-and-silver evening gowns that mimic the luxury SUV's colors. Celebrities in the audience include Rachel Hunter, Marcus Allen, Vida Guerra and Jadakiss.
Cadillac's ad agency, Leo Burnett Detroit, created the spot. It also will appear during the March 5 telecast of the Academy Awards, says Cadillac General Manager Jim Taylor.
Cadillac marketing director Jon Brancheau wouldn't say what Cadillac is spending to broadcast the commercial during the second quarter of the game. ABC is charging as much as $2.6 million for 30 seconds of first-half ad time.
The Escalade has a base price of $57,280, including freight. That's the same as the current model, but Cadillac says the 2007 version has more equipment.
