All the attention is on the cars and trucks, but the 2006 North American International Auto Show is almost as much about technology and innovation. Dozens of vehicle introductions this year featured new types of technology developments on all facets of the motor vehicle.
With gasoline prices poised for another record year, it was no surprise that many new vehicles touted improved fuel efficiency and emissions technologies in engines, transmissions and exhausts. But there were plenty of other technology breakthroughs as well from automakers.
