FRANKFURT - Volkswagen AG and Continental Automotive Systems last week agreed to create a strategic partnership to develop and supply electronics for future hybrid projects. At the same time, VW awarded an order for a hybrid drive module consisting of an electric drive including the power electronics to Continental and ZF Friedrichshafen AG.
Terms were not disclosed.
Continental Automotive Systems is a unit of Continental AG, which has its North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich. It supplies electronic brakes, stability management systems, tires, foundation brakes, chassis systems and safety system electronics.
ZF Friedrichshafen, of Friedrichshafen, Germany, supplies driveline and chassis technology.
