Supplier CTS Corp. will invest $21 million in a new plant in the Czech Republic to manufacture sensors and mechanical subsystems.
The factory, in Ostrava, will open midyear with up to 160 employees. It initially will manufacture automotive products for the European market.
"Our European sales are projected to double in the next five years, Jeff McCurley, general manager of CTS Automotive Products, said in a statement. "Ostrava offers low costs, availability of technical skills and necessary manufacturing infrastructure."
CTS Automotive Products, of Elkhart, Ind., makes sensors, actuators and subsystems used in powertrain, safety, suspension, fuel and emissions control systems. It is a unit of CTS Corp, headquartered in Elkhart.
