DETROIT -- The assets of bankrupt suppliers Metalforming Technologies Inc. and Trim Trends Co. LLC. were bought by New York equity firm Patriarch Partners LLC in December and will be used as a base to make a new supplier called Global Automotive Systems LLC.
The company will be based in what was Trim Trends' headquarters in Farmington Hills, Mich. It expects annual sales of more than $1 billion and has about 1,500 employees.
Trim Trends supplies door intrusion beams, suspension link components, seat tracks, door frames, trim and transmission hubs.
Metalforming, of Auburn Hills, Mich., supplies stamped and tubular metal components.
