DETROIT -- Linamar Corp. has moved into larger offices in suburban Southfield, Mich., so it can integrate its engineering, sales and marketing staff.
The Linamar Automotive Customer Center has 24,000 square feet, an increase from the supplier's former 9,100-square-foot space. It has capacity for 100 employees, up from its former building's threshold of 65.
The move allows the supplier to house sales, marketing and engineering staff from its McLaren Performance Technologies unit, which it acquired in 2003, with its Detroit-based sales employees.
Linamar, of Guelph, Ontario, supplies cylinder heads, camshafts, crankcases and connecting rods. It ranks No. 46 on the Automotive News list of the top 150 suppliers to North America with North American original-equipment automotive parts sales of $1.09 billion in 2004.
