For the first time, the National Automobile Dealers Association will hold a networking breakfast for minority dealers at its annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.
Carl Ragsdale, COO of NADA's dealer services division, says he hopes the Feb. 13 breakfast will encourage more minority dealers to take part in the NADA meeting.
Nathan Conyers, owner of a Jaguar dealership in Novi, Mich., will be keynote speaker. Conyers, a former Ford dealer, has 35 years of experience as an auto retailer.
Ragsdale says the breakfast will allow minority dealers to share ideas and hear insights from a veteran colleague.
Minority dealer groups often hold meetings just before NADA's annual convention, Ragsdale says. But many minority dealers have not stayed for the NADA event, he adds.
The National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers is helping plan the breakfast. Ragsdale says NADA has not decided whether to make the breakfast an annual event.
