LOS ANGELES -- Mitsubishi will try to break through TV advertising clutter with a 30-second spot in Japanese with English subtitles. The commercial touts the face-lifted 2006 Endeavor.
The spot, scheduled for the first quarter of 2006, shows the SUV traveling through an animated jungle. When it reaches its home in a neighborhood, a birdlike creature bows before the vehicle to offer respect.
The commercial is part of a $40 million ad campaign for the Endeavor.
In May, Mitsubishi Motors North America started advertising its Japanese heritage with spots for the redesigned Eclipse in which drummers hammer out Japanese rhythms on huge Kodo drums.
