DETROIT -- Shanghai Behr Thermal Systems, a joint venture between Behr GmbH & Co. KG and Shanghai Sanden Behr Automotive Air Conditioning Co., has begun operations in Jinqiao, Shanghai.
The plant produces HVAC modules and engine cooling components.
The plant cost about $37 million and expects to have revenues of about $87 million in two to three years.
Behr, of Stuttgart, supplies engine cooling and air conditioning.
Its North America unit, Behr America Inc., has its headquarters in Troy, Mich.
