DETROIT -- Mary Beth Vander Schaaf has been promoted to deputy managing editor of Automotive News, a newly created position that reflects her expanding responsibilities.
Since 1993, Vander Schaaf has been assistant managing editor, overseeing the copy desk and production.
Vander Schaaf, 45, also organized and edited 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry, a special edition that was published Sept. 26.
Vander Schaaf joined Automotive News in 1982 as a staff reporter.
She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Marquette University.
