WASHINGTON -- Contrary to published reports, Delphi Corp. workers are not slowing down production or conducting sickouts, Delphi CEO Steve Miller said last week.
Miller met with reporters here to discuss federal actions that would help companies such as Delphi, which has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. He cited an overhaul of pension law as an example.
Miller also sought to soothe feelings of workers, whom he says are angry at him about possible pay and benefit reductions and jobs cuts. Said Miller: "I think they fundamentally understand that if they disappoint our customers, that is the quickest way to bring an end to their jobs."
