DETROIT -- Tenneco Automotive Inc. is changing its name to Tenneco Inc., the exhaust and ride control equipment supplier said Friday.
Tenneco's stock symbol, TEN, will remain the same. The company will start trading under its new name on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, Oct. 31.
CEO Mark Frissora said in a statement that the name change emphasizes the supplier's other products in markets that complement its automotive business.
Tenneco, of Lake Forest, Ill., ranks No. 43 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers with worldwide original-equipment automotive parts sales of $3.21 billion in 2004.
