Toyota Motor Corp. is testing the Lexus LF-A high-performance concept at the Nurburgring test track in Germany. The vehicle is powered by a V-10 engine.
Although Lexus won't confirm that it approved production of the vehicle, it said such a car would highlight Toyota's involvement in Formula One racing.
But Formula One is shifting to a V-8 engine in 2006. When asked what that might mean for the LF-A, Toyota Executive Vice President Masatami Takimoto said: "If the regulations in Formula One change, then the basis of the concept will also undergo a change."
