WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., wants the White House to hold a summit on automobile industry troubles made clear by Delphi Corp.'s Chapter 11 case.
In a letter to President Bush, Clinton said the summit should address health care and pension costs, competition from overseas and fuel economy. "We cannot simply allow one of the core elements of our national economic infrastructure to wither away," she wrote.
Last month, Ford Motor Co. CEO Bill Ford called for a White House summit on energy.
