Group 1 Automotive Inc. of Houston last week lowered its guidance for 2005 earnings to a maximum of $67.5 million, from $72.8 million.
The publicly held dealership group's revised projections include third-quarter losses related to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Two of Group 1's six stores in the New Orleans area remain closed because of hurricane damage. Its two stores in Beaumont, Texas, have reopened.
Group 1 plans to release earnings for its third quarter, which ended Sept. 30, on Nov. 1.
The company ranks No. 5 on Automotive News' list of the top 100 U.S. dealership groups.
