AURORA, Ontario -- Magna International Inc.'s Intier Automotive Inc. has formed a joint venture with DAS Korea to make seats and seating mechanisms for China and Korea.
The joint venture, called Intier DAS Seating Systems, will be in DAS' former mechanisms plant in Beijing. A second plant will be added in Shanghai.
The venture will be an equal partnership between the companies. It expects to make seating mechanisms for more than 1 million vehicles and complete seats for more than 250,000 vehicles each year.
Magna International, of Aurora, Ontario, supplies interiors, exteriors, body and chassis systems, seats, mirrors, closures, electronics, engines transmissions and drivetrains.
