The head of General Motors Performance Division is taking his foot off the gas pedal.
As of Oct. 1, Mark Reuss has been head of GM North America vehicle systems. He replaces Matt Tsien, 45, who is now head of global central engineering as GM works to globalize product development.
The keys to the Performance Division have been handed to Bob Kruse, 46, who also is head of North America vehicle integration.
Reuss, 42, was the first chief of the Performance Division, formed in 2002 to speed up introduction of high-performance versions of GM products. His garage produced the Cadillac V-series and the Chevrolet SS-series lines and Saturn Red Line vehicles -- a big shift from the guy who had been the vehicle line executive for the Pontiac Aztek SUV.
