Mark McNabb, 44, vice president in charge of Nissan Division, has been promoted to a plum position in Japan.
He will be in charge of Nissan's overseas markets outside of North America, Japan and Europe. He will be located in Tokyo and will report to Toshiyuki Shiga, COO of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. The position takes effect Oct. 20.
McNabb's promotion is another instance of Nissan using expertise from the United States in global marketing. Steve Wilhite, former vice president of marketing for Nissan North America Inc., was promoted to senior vice president of global marketing on July 1, 2004, in Tokyo.
Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn wants to boost global sales to 4.2 million in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2009. That's up from 3.4 million in the last fiscal year.
Brad Bradshaw, president of Nissan Canada Inc., will replace McNabb as head of Nissan Division.
