Keith Crain's Sept. 26 advice to avoid high-tech overkill in new cars is right on. I look out in the drive and see my Lexus RX 330 with the easy knobs and pretty much straightforward user interface, and I love it. Next to it is my husband's BMW X5, with every function a mystery.
The thought of iDrive fills me with dread, as much as I like the looks and performance of the BMW 7 series.
I test drove my favorite car of all time this summer, the Bentley Continental GT. Such a beautiful car -- but far too much technology. I crossed it off the list.
I'm in the computer business. Programming computer software, no problem. Hook up a digital videorecorder, piece of cake. Please, keep the technology behind the scenes in my car.
