DETROIT - Collins & Aikman Corp. has reached an agreement in bankruptcy court with four of its six largest customers to increase the prices of its parts.
The news means Collins & Aikman will continue to produce parts for Chrysler, Honda, Nissan and Toyota vehicles. Collins & Aikman executives said they expect to have agreements with Ford Motor Co. and General Motors by Friday, Oct. 7.
Details of the agreements were not released. The contracts are under court seal. But John Boken, Collins & Aikman's restructuring officer, said Collins & Aikman, of Troy, Mich., now is earning enough money to continue operations without outside financing.
