DETROIT -- Veteran Detroit journalist Philip Nussel has joined Automotive News as industry editor, with responsibility for coverage of suppliers, information technology, engineering and transplant manufacturing.
Nussel, 40, has been managing editor of Crain's Detroit Business, business editor at The Detroit News and deputy business editor at the Detroit Free Press.
David Barkholz, 48, has taken a reporting assignment to cover Delphi Corp. and Visteon Corp. He joined Automotive News in May as industry editor after 18 years at Crain's Detroit Business. From 1997 through 2002, he won five national journalism awards.
Reporter Jamie LaReau has been assigned to cover General Motors. Previously she covered marketing. LaReau, 36, joined Automotive News last year.
Reporter Greg Bowens takes the marketing beat. Bowens, 40, had covered vehicle information and entertainment systems and suppliers of safety-related components. He joined Automotive News in 2004.
