DETROIT -- KS Bearings Inc. and Miba Bearings US LLC have formed a joint venture to make metal components for bearings for the companies' plants in the United States, Germany and Austria.
The companies have 50 percent stakes in the joint venture, called Advanced Bearing Materials LLC. It will be in Greensburg, Ind. The venture will have 36 employees initially and start production in November.
KS Bearings is a division of Kolbenschmidt Pierburg AG, of Duesseldorf, Germany. It supplies pistons, emission control products, oil and water pumps, engine blocks, manifolds and bearings.
Miba Bearings is a unit of the Miba Group, of Laakirchen, Austria, which supplies sintered parts, plain bearings and friction linings.
