ST. LOUIS -- Solutia Inc. will boost the prices of its polyvinyl buytral films by as much as 10 percent on Oct. 1.
The supplier says the price increase will apply to new deals and items not covered under existing contracts. It says the increase stemmed from higher material, energy and transportation costs.
Polyvinyl buytral films help block sun and sound and prevent windows from shattering.
Solutia, of St. Louis, supplies nylons and plastics used for engine parts, fibers used in tires, and airbags and aftermarket window films.
