MUNICH -- Mercedes-Benz will show a diesel hybrid version of its new S class upper-premium sedan at the IAA in Frankfurt in September.
The S-class hybrid concept likely will be an evolution of Mercedes' P1/2 hybrid system that debuted at the Detroit auto show in January on the current-generation S-class.
Mercedes' parent DaimlerChrysler is cooperating with General Motors to develop hybrid technology. Mercedes' role is to focus on hybrid drives for rear-wheel luxury cars.
At the IAA, Mercedes also will show a CLK premium roadster with a mild hybrid powertrain with an integrated starter generator.
