Donckerwolke moves to Seat from Lambo.
Donckerwolke, 40, has led Lamborghini's design since 1998. He is responsible for the edgy design language of current Lamborghini models including the Murcielago and the new Gallardo Spy-der that will debut at the IAA in Frankfurt in September.
Donckerwolke's appointment highlights VW group's commitment to finding synergies within its Audi brand group, which includes Audi, Seat and Lamborghini, a Seat statement said.
At Seat, Donckerwolke will take over from Walter de' Silva. De' Silva, who remains Donckerwolke's boss, will fill in for the Belgian-born designer at Lamborghini on an interim basis.
De Silva's main job will continue to be head of design for Audi brand group.
