Four hardy, UK-based GMAC Financial Services employees scaled the tallest mountains in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland in just under 48 hours to raise £6,400 (E9,300) for charity.
The four members of General Motors' financial services arm were among 180 participants in the annual Vauxhall Four Peaks Challenge. The fund-raisers had to climb Ben Nevis, Helvellyn, Snowdon and Carantouhill (totaling 5,000 meters or 14,000 feet) within 48 hours. The GMAC team finished with 41 minutes to spare.
GMAC brand manager Barry Wilson and regional managers Mark Bradley and Tim Whaley scaled the peaks. GMAC project manager Dave Bradley drove the team the 3,000km between the mountains in a borrowed Vauxhall.
