Mitsubishi Motors Corp. will debut a lower-medium hatchback concept car at the Frankfurt auto show in September. The prototype is the Japanese automaker's first use of a vehicle architecture developed with the Chrysler group.
Called the Concept Sportback, the hatchback previews a range of new Mitsubishi models planned over the next three years. These include an SUV to be developed with PSA/Peugeot-Citroen SA and probably the successor to the Lancer lower-medium car.
The Chrysler group will use the platform for the Dodge Caliber hatchback that will be shown as a production car at the Frankfurt auto show in September.
