BEIJING - TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. and China South Industries Group Corp. will partner in a joint venture to make braking and steering systems for China.
The company will be called CSG TRW Chassis Systems Co. It will be in Bishan County of Chongqing, China.
TRW also has final government approval to close its Burgos, Spain, plant.
The plant, which primarily made seat belts and some airbag parts, will close in the third quarter of this year and cost the supplier about $31 million.
The supplier did not release a closing date.
TRW of Livonia, Mich., supplies steering, suspension, braking, engine parts, fasteners, occupant restraint systems, and electronics.
China South Industries of Chongqing makes cars and parts, including braking components, shock absorbers and engine systems.
