LOS ANGELES -- Toyota Motor Corp. will add a third port facility on the West Coast to handle imports.
The port is in Benicia, Calif., in the northeastern corner of the San Francisco Bay area.
Toyota already processes vehicles at ports in Long Beach, Calif., and Portland, Ore. But a lease between Toyota Logistics Services, Union-Pacific and the Port of Long Beach expires next year. As a result, the automaker decided some operations there - such as Toyota vehicle processing and the Scion accessory installation center - will move to Benicia.
