The Chrysler group began building the Mitsubishi Raider pickup last week in Warren, Mich., along with Dodge Dakota and Ram pickups.In June, 308 Dodge Vipers were built. Only twice before in the car's 12-year production history were more than 300 Vipers built: in March 1994 (331) and June 1994 (313). Average monthly production for 2005 is about 145 units.North America car and truck production was up 0.8 percent in June from the year-ago month.
U.S. car production was up 7.7 percent; Canada car production was down 7.8 percent; Mexico car production was down 2.4 percent; and North America car production was up 2.8 percent.
U.S. truck production was up 2.7 percent; Canada truck production was down 13.3 percent; Mexico truck production was down 11.6 percent; and North America truck production was down 0.6 percent.
U.S. car and truck production was up 4.5 percent; Canada car and truck production was down 10.5 percent; and Mexico car and truck production fell 6.1 percent.
