Ford Europe will debut its new Galaxy large minivan as a concept at September's IAA in Frankfurt.
The Galaxy will be based on the architecture of Ford's Mondeo upper-medium car and will be built in the Genk, Belgium, plant where the Mondeo is produced.
Volkswagen builds the current Galaxy at its Setubal, Portugal, factory.
Ford will not show the production version of its SAV, or sport activity vehicle, at the IAA in September.
Last month the US automaker announced that it will build the vehicle in Genk. The SAV will be positioned between the Mondeo and Galaxy. The production version will debut at the Geneva auto show in March 2006 and go on sale next summer.
