When it comes to brand loyalty, truck buyers are almost No. 1, says Kenneth Gilman, CEO of Asbury Automotive Group. "Perhaps with the sole exception being a woman and her bra."
Gilman has some basis for comparison: He spent 25 years at Limited Brands, the Ohio company whose holdings include Victoria's Secret.
"It's tough to get a guy out of his truck," Gilman told Automotive News staffers last week. "And I know from having sold a lot of lingerie, it's tough to get a woman to change that piece of her wardrobe."
In addition to his auto retailing talents, Gilman revealed, he's "a qualified bra fitter."
