Toyota and PSA/Peugeot-Citroen have appointed a new president for their joint-venture plant in Kolin, Czech Republic.
The move follows the plant’s official opening on May 31. It also signals a changeover from the planning and preparation phase to actual car production.
“The big task is now finished; the new president is more focused on production,” a spokesman at the Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile plant said.
TPCA’s current vice president for production, Satoshi Takae, will take over the joint venture effective July 1. He will succeed Masatake Enomoto, who will return to Japan to take up another assignment within Toyota.
Takae is an engineer who worked in several production jobs throughout his career. Enomoto, a trained lawyer, led the negotiations that resulted in the establishment of the Kolin plant. He also oversaw the construction and start-up.
