Subaru of America Inc. raised prices of its Forester wagon from $320 to $370, depending on trim level, for the 2006 model year and it consolidated trim levels.
The 2006 vehicles are reaching dealerships now.
The XS trim designation has been dropped for the 2006 model year. Instead, a Premium Package is an option for vehicles in the X trim level.
The base 2006 Forester X with a manual transmission has a sticker price of $22,390, including shipping.
Changes to the Forester include a redesigned grille, headlights, taillights, bumpers, front fenders and rear trim panel.
The Forester XT Limited is the only trim level offered with a turbocharged engine. Previously, the turbo had been offered in other trim levels.
Subaru sold 23,122 Foresters through May, down 1.8 percent from the same period in 2004.
