LOS ANGELES -- Land Rover will stop building the current Freelander SUV for the United States.
The collapse of MG Rover has curtailed the supply of engines for the Freelander. Land Rover will use the remaining engines in Freelanders for other markets where the vehicle is more popular, says spokesman Tim Watson.
A redesigned version of the Freelander will arrive in North America in late 2006.
