WASHINGTON -- Marianne McInerney, president of the American International Automobile Dealers Association, is credited with helping to sell two vehicles at St. Louis Acura during her one-day trial as an automotive sales associate.
One was a TL, the other an MDX, says Ray Mungenast, operator of the dealership and vice president of the Dave Mungenast Automotive Family.
But what's more important to the Mungenasts and other dealers is that she went to the front line to find out what the car business is really like.
"In 40 years in the business, this is the first time anyone from an association or manufacturer came out wanting to learn," said Dave Mungenast Sr., president of the dealership group and a former AIADA chairman.
"She did a good job. She made a lot of friends."
