BARCELONA -- Chevrolet will use its new Kalos/Aveo to compete against Renault's Logan in central Europe.
The Kalos small-segment model likely will cost about E5,000 more than the Logan but Chevrolet Europe Executive Director Hardy Spranger believes it is a serious challenger.
"The Logan is certainly a competitor in terms of price, but we will offer more equipment and safety features," said Spranger at the Barcelona auto show.
Chevrolet parent General Motors unveiled the Kalos at the Shanghai auto show. It touted the model as a world car and said it will be sold in 120 markets worldwide. In markets outside Europe, the car will be called the Aveo.
The Kalos is likely to be priced at E12,000. The cheapest Logan, built in Romania by Renault subsidiary Dacia, sells for about E7,000.
