LONDON -- Stephen Odell will succeed Roger Putnam as Ford of Britain's chairman July 1.
Odell, 50, is currently senior managing ex-ecutive officer for sales, marketing and service at Mazda in Japan.
Odell was previously president of Mazda Motor Europe and also has held senior sales positions at Ford in Europe and North America.
Putnam, 59, has led Ford of Britain since March 2002.
He is retiring after nearly 40 years in the industry.
Putnam spent 16 years with Lotus starting in 1966, then joined Jaguar as UK marketing and sales director in 1982.
Mazda Europe CEO Dan Morris will take over Odell's duties in Japan. Morris, 49, will be director and senior managing executive officer of Mazda.
James Muir, Mazda Europe's vice president of sales, will take over Morris' duties.
