TOKYO -- Toyota is tops in auto revenues, if not sales.
In the January-March quarter, Toyota Motor Corp.'s automotive revenues led General Motors' $40.31 billion to $37.30 billion.
But GM's overall revenues barely edged out Toyota's on GM's much larger lending and other revenues. GM's total revenues were $45.77 billion, down 4.3 percent. Toyota's were $45.46 billion, up 4.2 percent.
In unit sales, GM was still the world champ. Its January-March car and truck sales came to 2,108,000, down 0.3 percent. Toyota totaled 2,002,000, up 8.3 percent.
