Jason Stein's May 2 column about health care in Canada ("Free health care isn't always free") is right-on!
I recently returned to Canada (my country of birth) after eight years in the Middle East (I ran one of the largest group of General Motors dealerships in Saudi Arabia). My family and I are appalled at the state of affairs in Canada with respect to medical care.
In Ontario, more than 1 million of us are without a family doctor. The wait for an MRI is just beyond belief (my mother-in-law waited five years and finally had one 30 days prior to her death from bone cancer).
In addition, we pay some of the highest taxes in the world. For what? I am sick of the world slamming the United States for all of the problems of the world.
Michael Moore is in love with Canada and our medical system. Maybe he should spend less time doing documentaries on the "bad" of America and concentrate on the free health care in Canada.
