NEW YORK -- BMW of North America LLC has reshuffled its top management and is putting a Rolls-Royce executive into the No. 2 job.
Howard Mosher, 58, head of sales and marketing for Rolls-Royce, will become BMW's executive vice president of operations on May 1. Mosher, an American, has held various posts in the auto industry during the past 30 years.
Mosher moves into the post held by Edward Robinson, 50, who will become CEO of BMW Financial Services on Friday, April 1.
James McDowell, 52, BMW marketing vice president, will take over Mini. Jack Pitney, 42, Mini general manager, will assume the top marketing job at BMW of North America.
John Christman, 51, CEO of the financial operations, will be moved to an international job that was not specified.
Tom Purves, who remains CEO of BMW of North America, says the changes were made to give executives more experience in other areas.
