Electronic component supplier Denso International America has promoted Bill Foy to the new position of vice president with global responsibilities for sales to DaimlerChrysler AG.
The new role also gives Foy, 40, responsibility for logistics, accounts receivable and distribution for businesses related to the traditional U.S. Big 3 automakers. He will coordinate sales to the Mercedes Car Group with Denso Automotive Deutschland GmbH.
Foy, who joined Denso in 1997, had been director of sales to the automaker for four years. Previously, he had been a senior manager on the supplier's General Motor account.
Denso International America, of Southfield, Mich., ranked No. 9 on the Automotive News list of top 150 original equipment suppliers to North America with original equipment sales of $3.89 billion in 2003.
