Cadillac is giving a new CTS-V and a trip to the London premiere today of the new movie Be Cool to an amateur filmmaker who won its "Under 5" contest.
Jeff Schmale, 33, of Bel Air, Maryland won the contest with his 5-second film, Tuesday. Schmale's film consists of several quick edits that depict an entire day.
The contest is part of Cadillac's marketing of its V series of performance cars. Ads for the cars stress their ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds.
Cadillac got 2,648 entries in the film contest, which ran Feb. 6-17, says Cadillac advertising manager Tom Hassett. The promotion brought 2.4 million hits to Cadillac's Web site, he says.
Those visits contributed to a 205 percent increase in site traffic last month over February 2004, Hasset says.
Schmale's film and the other finalists can be viewed at www.CadillacUnder5.com.
