Mazda will use its "zoom-zoom" marketing campaign in China, said Stephen Odell, Mazda Motor Corp. director of marketing, sales and customer service.
"The plan is to make zoom-zoom relevant in China," he said.
Mazda is making its first equity investment in a plant in Nanjing, China. Ford Motor Co., which owns 33.4 percent of Mazda, received permission from the Chinese government to build the plant.
The plant will produce both Ford and Mazda-badged cars.
