The Toyota Tacoma, redesigned for the first time in 10 years, has grown. The 2005 Tacoma is 6 inches longer in the wheelbase and 5 inches wider than the previous model.
The pickup also gets two new engines: a new 2.7-liter DOHC inline-four that produces 164 hp and 183 pounds-feet of torque and a 4.0-liter DOHC V-6 that makes 245 hp and 282 pounds-feet of torque.
Pricing for the Tacoma starts at $13,980 including $565 destination. That's up $965 from the outgoing model. The pickup will be built at the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. plant in Fremont, Calif., and at Toyota's new plant in Tijuana, Mexico.
