Henrik Fisker also was director of Ford's advance design studio in Irvine, Calif.
He was chief design director for Aston Martin and director of Ford's advance design studio in Irvine, Calif.
Fisker said he has a new job but declined to reveal it because of an agreement with Ford.
He joined Ford in 2001 from BMW's Designworks/USA subsidiary to work on Aston Martin designs. Aston Martin credits Fisker with work on the DB9 and the AMV8 Vantage.
In 2003 Fisker was named head of the advance design studio. Ford spokeswoman Jennifer Flake says he was instrumental in the Lincoln Zephyr and Ford Shelby GR-1 concept cars. She said his successor has not been chosen.
