After four years at General Motors, Buick and Pontiac-GMC, CJ Fraleigh is giving up cars for a top marketing job at Sara Lee Corp.
The move reunites Fraleigh, 41, with Sara Lee President Brenda Barnes. The two worked together at Pepsi-Cola before Fraleigh joined GM in 2001. He'll now be hawking Brylcreem, Hanes underwear and other Sara Lee brands.
GM hired Fraleigh as executive director of corporate advertising and marketing. His credits include the Cadillac "Break Through" ad campaign backed by Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll." Lately he has been pushing Buicks with the help of Aerosmith's "Dream On."
But Roger Adams was given the executive director post last February, while Fraleigh became general manager of Buick and Pontiac-GMC. Fraleigh made a splash when he helped engineer Oprah's giveaway of 200 Pontiac G6 sedans.
