DETROIT -- Chevrolet will not catch Ford Division in U.S. sales this year.
After nine months, Chevy had drawn to within 8,303 sales of Ford. But Ford dealers applied a full-court press in October and November and pretty well blew Chevrolet out of the game.
Ford beat Chevy by 14,780 sales in October and 12,150 in November to bring its advantage to 35,233. That lead appears to be too big for Chevrolet to erase.
This will be Ford's 18th straight year as the best-selling brand in the United States.
